Finally, the transcript of a note  written by  one of our team and published  in the folk magazine - Penny Dreadful:

VIVE LES FYLDE COAST CLOGGERS

Fylde Coast Cloggers have just returned from a second assault on the eardrums of the country folk of Brittany. We got the feeling they’d never heard anything like it; certainly the unsuspecting bride and groom emerging from their wedding at the Mairie at Scaër didn’t know what to make of the ambush guard of honour.

We danced all day at the Noce Bretonne festival at Bannalec and dined on the wedding feast cooked before our very eyes in huge cooking pots outside the church on the town square. This event also featured us and a guest Russian team dancing all together with the French. The cold war has definitely ended! Another day we danced for a Fest De at le Faouët and stole all the thunder from the Breton dancers – even under their own XIVth Century Halles Even caused havoc in Pont Aven market! Notoriety was suitably spread by press coverage everywhere. We will return.

A bientôt la Bretagne.

Sue Whitaker

P.S. Forgot to say that entente cordiale was enthusiastically achieved by us presenting civic plaques from Lytham St. Annes to the mayors of Bannalec, Scaër and le Faouët. We even got one back from Scaër!
