Dances and Music

We perform a mixture of Morris dances, both North West and garland. Some dances are traditional, some are 'borrowed' from other teams and others are our own, based on traditional steps and figures.

Below is a list of the dances in our current repertoire and their corresponding music. The clickable dance titles are links to files containing the music in abc format (a description of abc is given here). (Free Windows software for producing sheet music and midi files from abc files can be obtained from here, but my favourite is ABCedit).
Clicking (pdf ), where it occurs after a dance title, should produce the sheet music for the dance in pdf format.
Many of the tunes are derived from those found on the JC's ABC Tune Match [tunefind] on trillian.mit.edu web site and modified to suit our dances.

The clickable music titles are links to midi files which can be played using Windows Media Player (or any one of several other programs). If you need files in the (much bigger) MP3 format and don't know how to convert from midi, then email me, the webmaster, stating which title(s) you want and I'll try to oblige.
